Maria has been a guest lecturer on Maya culture, the socio-economic and political situation in Guatemala and of course weaving at both Centralia College and Spokane Falls Community College in Spokane. Her knowledge of weaving and her unique abilities to communicate her art have made her a sought after instructor, lecturer, .guest speaker...her 8 hour workshops are recognized by many as the "best ever attended" for those interested in further advancing this century old tradition.

Currently she has been approached to consider becoming a member of the Art Faculty Staff at Spokane Falls Community College to conduct a 6-8 week weaving workshop each quarter.
